Frequently Asked Questions

How it Works

Is Minded right for me?

Minded is available to people 18 and over in the states where we operate who have (or think they may have) anxiety, depression, or insomnia and are interested in medication as part of their treatment. Our Care Team can prescribe both controlled and non-controlled substances at their discretion (and depending on age and location).

Minded is not a good fit for people looking for treatment for:

  • ADHD
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Substance abuse issues
  • Suicidal ideation

Minded is not for individuals in crisis. If you are experiencing an emotional crisis, or if you believe that you are a danger to yourself or to others, get help immediately:

  • Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
  • Call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 to speak with a live counselor 24 hours a day
  • Text the Crisis Text Line by sending ‘HOME’ to 741-741 to connect to a counselor immediately

Do I need a prior diagnosis or prescription?

No. Minded's mental health experts can evaluate symptoms of depression, anxiety, and insomnia to diagnose conditions and develop an appropriate treatment plan whether you're new to medication or already taking it.

What if I'm taking a medication Minded doesn't offer?

If you are taking a psychotropic medication that is not in our formulary, our Care Team will discuss with you what options are available and if Minded is a good fit. There are medications we do not currently prescribe and will require you to continue to see another medical professional.

Which medications can Minded prescribe?

Our Care Team can prescribe both controlled and non-controlled medication for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. You can see a list of our most commonly prescribed medications here.

Does Minded prescribe controlled medications?
  • Yes, our Care Team can prescribe certain controlled medications at their discretion, and depending on your age and location.
  • For eligible patients, Minded currently prescribes eszopiclone (Lunesta™), temazepam (Restoril™), zolpidem (Ambien™), zolpidem CR (Ambien CR™), alprazolam (Xanax™), clonazepam (Klonipin™), and lorazepam (Ativan™) under temporary authorization in effect during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Can Minded replace my doctor’s visits?

While telehealth visits with Minded may be an option for your psychiatric needs, they are not a replacement for your primary care provider. We recommend all patients seek and maintain general in-person health and wellness visits.
